Page Highfill Looks Out at Tennis Courts from His Office (Richmond-Times Dispatch April 8, 1979)

Family owned and operated, Courtside West is one of Richmond’s longest running Racquet Clubs with a story that started back in the late 1970s.

Designed and built in 1978 by founding partners, C. Page Highfill, AIA Emeritus (retired) and William Smith, AIA Emeritus (retired) — Courtside West has provided the Greater Richmond Area with a private, yet welcoming, indoor multiplex for racquet enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. For nearly 25 years, Page and his wife, Kate, ran Courtside West alongside a host of Richmond Tennis icons. Flash forward three generations, and Page’s two sons and grandson now operate the Club.

Located in the heart of the West End, Courtside West boasts three indoor tennis courts, two pickleball courts, two racquetball courts, player and guest lounge, a pro shop, and full suite fitness center with multi-purpose studio.

Additionally, Courtside West is home to several health and wellness businesses, including onsite massage therapists, a psychiatrist, and a gourmet catering service. In short, Courtside West is a one-stop shop where you can improve your mind, body, and game.

Since 1978, we’ve maintained a proud tradition of bringing people together over the love of racquet sports, personal wellness, and the joy of camaraderie.
